A Few Decades Ago And NOW!!

When I was a little girl, life then was so simple, few traffic, lush greeneries, people mostly work as hard labors, and this was very entertaining then, black and white television.

Most village folks hardly travel out of town, men to their favorite coffee shops, and women stayed at home cooking and looking after their children. Kids usually were seen playing in open spaces, playing games like the tops, marbles hitting, rubber seeds collecting, catching fighting fish from the drain, girls playing 5 or 7 stones and many others that todays kids do not even know these games had once existed.

In the early morning, streets were busy with parents going to work on motorcycles and bicycles, kids walking to school, those who owns a car is considered well to do. Kids that can take a school bus then are also blessed. My siblings and I walked to school for six years before my parent could afford us bicycles.

When I am in the secondary school, things started to change and improve very fast. In a short span of 4 to 5 years, many students are seen taking motorcycles to school and I am counted in too.

Opportunities are abundance with the government open the market for foreign investors to come to Malaysia to build huge factories thus allowing many people scurrying to big cities to seek employment. Then ladies, after a few years education were usually wait to be marry off after a ripe age of 18, they too left the village to seek greener pasture in the city instead of hooked up a man and became housewife.

Technologies are at lightning speed, people are more educated with the economy hitting high with many earning big money from the stock markets, production of various aspects can reached farther to other countries shores, many enjoyed the luxuries of flying from countries to countries, learning and exploring. Trading become a phenomenon to countries that are without natural resources and have grown to become rich and developed countries.

I remembered when I bought my first computer, it was so difficult to operate, searches was done something like typing a database, that was what the guy that came back from overseas with an IT degree taught me. Later came internet line, wireless broadband and now is all about high speed broadband. Instant connection wherever you are. Isolated places like deep into the jungles, many are found with available internet and mobile connection. That is how our present lives today.

Telephones! from home phones to mobile, car mobile and now mobile phone has similar functions to that of a computer.

Today era, everything moves and changes so fast. Before learning a new tech, 6 months later another new product came into the market. No way one person can learned everything.

So today, you have to be an expert in whatever niche you seek. People are talking about doctorate and degree holders are now similar to a basic education. I always ask myself, where am I? It is all about targeted niche and the 3% of the population of the successful ones.

I won’t want to be in a museum when revolution took place or like a dinosaur in a city. I want to learn what the top earners in the world are doing. I have wasted a lot of my time, growing up knowing only to help and look after families. I want to do something for myself and doing it well.

I used technology and systems now, building armies of ‘robots’ as salesperson to work for me. No calling in sick or take leaves and can gave exact duplication in what I do.
